teaching & supervision

teaching activities, supervised theses, invited lectures, and summary of taught courses.

Teaching and mentoring are central to my academic work. I have supervised master’s and bachelor’s theses on topics ranging from anomaly detection in cloud-based systems to human-in-the-loop mission re-planning and digital twin monitoring, and I have taught and assisted in courses on software engineering, agile development, and requirements engineering at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Brasília, accumulating over 1,300 hours of university-level instruction. I also give invited lectures and keynotes at summer schools on robotics software engineering.

Supervised Thesis

  1. "A Study on Isolation Forest for Anomaly Detection in Cloud-Based Systems". 2024, Master’s Thesis in Computer Science and Engineering. Fredrik Nätterdal and Karl Olausson.
  2. "Dynamic Mission Re-planning with Human Involvement in Autonomous Systems". 2024, Master’s Thesis in Computer Science and Engineering. Martin Andersson and Elinor Dåverstrand. Co-supervised with Rebekka Wohlrab (co-supervisor)
  3. "Human Performance and VR Interfaces: A Study of Digital Twin Monitoring in AI-Driven Fleets of Vehicles". 2023, Bachelor of Science Thesis in Software Engineering and Management. Numan Korkmaz and George-Vlad Liteanu. Co-supervised with Beatriz-Cabrero Daniel (main supervisor)

Academic Opportunities

I welcome inquiries from prospective students and collaborators. Current opportunities include:

  • Master’s thesis supervision — topics in robotics software testing, runtime verification, self-adaptation, and formal methods.
  • Research visits — short-term research stays at GSSI for PhD students or postdocs working on related topics.
